The objectives of Homeless Connect Edmonton are to:
- Provide and increase access to free appropriate services to homeless individuals and those at risk of becoming homeless, on one day and at one location.
- Act as part of the movement to end homelessness for good in Edmonton and the initiative is part of the overall strategy to end homelessness, as detailed in Edmonton’s 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness, “A Place to Call Home.”
- Engage and increase the collaborative involvement of homeless consumers, businesses, not for profits and other service providers, and individual volunteers to work together to create solutions to end homelessness.
- Leverage corporate and in-kind donations to support the delivery of Homeless Connect initiatives.
Homeless Connect Edmonton is coordinated by Homeward Trust, a community-based not for profit that provides leadership and resources towards ending homelessness in Alberta’s Capital. A volunteer Steering Committee has been established to support the event coordination and delivery.
